Base Squad

PJP practices group-centered leadership rather than a hierarchy based system. This means that leaders form in groups and are committed to building collective power and struggling toward collective goals.  We believe in the principles of democratic decision making and that we all have ownership over our collective work. We want to push members to take initiative in our planning and organizing, as well as create spaces for training and leadership development. Central to our work is to obtain independent BLACK political power through grassroots organizing, direct actions, electoral politics, public policy, and leadership development.

Community Conversations

PJP’s community conversations are intentional public events that create a safe space for people to discuss their concerns around issues at the core of PJP’s work, like reimagining community safety, resisting the police state, and how to organize together to realize our goals.

Organizing Revival Fellowship / ROAR

Hosted by the People’s Justice Project (PJP), the Organizing Revival Fellowship aims to build a more powerful and cohesive movement in Ohio by working with a cohort of partner organizations to strengthen their work in civic engagement, political education, community building, and invest in their organizational development.
